What I see in my consulting role is that matrixed organisations really struggle here. Matrixed so often means silo’d. And with businesses reducing their overheads it’s the senior strategic leaders with responsibility for joining the dots that have been chopped from businesses or are stretched beyond capacity. That leaves leaders who have an eye primarily on their reports and targets to collaborate, innovate, make change…. how is that possible? Paul Cruise, Nicola Meadows and I had a go at figuring it out.
